Mentorship

If you love working with new agents at the brokerage the mentor-mentee model that offers
you part of their revenue, might be your best bet for additional income and the enjoyment pf
helping others. Your goal is to mentor them until they are ready to become their own agent.
Showing them how to generate their own leads will be a top priority. Be prepared, you will
spend a lot of time teaching the new agent, which includes attending listing presentations and
showings with them. Mentors help new agents set realistic goals, develop time management
plans and choose the right career path in real estate. They also share lessons learned from
their own experiences including what worked and what didn’t work.
Other areas such as market analysis, negotiation and contract handling need to be things the
mentor would cover.
Mentors often introduce new agents to valuable contacts—such as lenders, inspectors,
attorneys, and others—creating opportunities for the new agent.
